Carterton Event Centre, Wairarapa Matariki Celebration 2022
On 25 June 2022 as part of the Carterton Matariki celebration, a public screening of Aotearoa Moving Portraits took place in the Carterton Event Centre. This was the first time the public would view the portraits. The portraits were shown on a big screen which is not the way they are meant to be viewed, as individual hanging portraits in a gallery. I placed two portraits side by side, in frames, to give that gallery impression. Here are some stills from the event and some reactions after the screening.
I was in the UK at the time of the screening so I filmed an introduction:

Carterton Historical Society Screening – Sunday 16th July
The Historical Society organised a screening of some of the portraits for their members. I had a short kÅrero before the screening and a Q&A after. It was very well received and some of their members will be sitting for portraits at the next shoot.
